Music is her greatest passion

“Whether at 17 or at 70…” – Peggy March’s new title couldn’t sum up her musical career better. Even at the age of 70, music is her great passion. Not only has she been successful as a singer for almost six decades, she has also enjoyed some success as a lyricist and composer.

With her new album and the single of the same name “You are never too old for dreams,” singer Peggy March takes her fans on a musical journey through time: from the first successes of the young “Litte Peggy March” in the 1960s to the present day. With her new titles she draws a bridge between the past and the present and looks optimistically into the future. Even after 56 years, she is famous in Germany and the USA with her distinctive and popular voice. With this mix of old and well-known as well as newly recorded titles, Peggy impressively shows how versatile she is.

In addition to the title of the album “You are never too old for dreams”, which Peggy presents with a breath of fresh air and carefree lightness, she opens her own “Book of Life” in another song. She looks back on fulfilling years with love and happiness, but also very honestly on the sad sides. She looks to the future full of joy and curiosity and encourages the listener to take their life into their own hands every day and to realize their dreams even at 70.

For her personally, it is a very emotional album and the first release without her husband and manager Arnie Harris, who passed away in 2013. Peggy and Arnie were married for 45 years. She dedicates three songs specifically to her late husband and her great love Arnie: “Always and Forever” as well as the two new titles “Don’t Worry, My Love” and “It could never be better for me”. Of course, some of her personal favorite songs cannot be missing from the album: “Your day will come”, “My love is strong enough” and “We will recognize each other”.

Peggy March has lived in Florida for many years. She has always maintained her close ties to Germany, to musical pioneers and friends over the years. She finally celebrated her international breakthrough in Germany in the 1960s. She traveled all over the world, including giving concerts in Japan and singing songs in seven different languages.

56 years ago, the then 15-year-old became an overnight star in the USA. As “Little Peggy March” she scored a global hit with “I Will Follow Him”, now a real evergreen. Only two years later – at the age of 17 – she was on stage in Germany and won the German Schlager Festival in Baden-Baden with the title “At 17 you still have dreams”. From then on she was an integral part of the German pop scene, appeared on the big stages and was a regular guest in shows and hit parades.

In 1969 and 1975 Peggy took part in the preliminary round of the Eurovision Song Contest and came in second place. In the 1990s she also made a comeback in the USA. Her first track “I Will Follow Him” was reinterpreted for the movie “Sister Act” with Whoopi Goldberg and became a success.

Peggy March was also successful as a lyricist and composer: With “When the Rain Begins to Fall” in 1984 she achieved a great success as a duet for Jermaine Jackson and Pia Zadora. The singer presents this global hit as a solo version for the first time on the new album.

Another highlight awaits Peggy in October 2019: she goes on a big tour together with Ireen Sheer, Lena Valaitis, Michael Holm and Graham Bonney. For the fourth time, the “pop legends” are on stage together and are filling numerous halls across Germany. In addition to numerous TV and live appearances in Germany, her first solo tour is also on the agenda.
