Shooting Star 2013 “Welcome to Carmen Nebel”

The love for music was always there, was in him, from the beginning. Swiss-born Pascal Silva is on stage for the first time at the age of 8

This is followed by performances in renowned bars, restaurants and hotels, initially alone and later with their own live band. After three major shows on cruise ships and in front of large audiences, the decision was made that he would make singing his career.

In the French-German language border area of Bernese Seeland, Pascal Silva grew up bilingual until he was 15 years old. The family then emigrated to the Dominican Republic. He meets like-minded people, forms a band and constantly gathers many musicians around him. As a white man who interprets the locals’ music the way he does, Pascal enjoys a certain exotic status and stands out. Television takes notice of him.

Before he was 20, Pascal Silva released two albums with a Latino sound. Since 2002, he has appeared in over 80 TV shows in the Dominican Republic alone. Of particular note here is his participation in the national television tour ‘Telerouta’ by Telemicro, the largest broadcaster in the Dominican Republic. Smaller live performances in the Caribbean turn into festival performances in front of up to 30,000 spectators. In a duet with Caribbean great Raulin Rodriguez he sings the title “Felicidades”, which Julio Iglesias sang together with Pedro Vargas.

Pascal is well connected in the music scene – and also in politics. President Leonel Fernández invited him to dinner twice.

In Switzerland, Pascal Silva’s song “A Tale of Lola” climbs to number 11 in the hit parade and even to number 1 in the national charts.

Show dates in Europe and a first tour in Switzerland followed, as well as invitations to well-known TV shows on both sides of the Atlantic.

His third album “Sueño Latino” released in the Caribbean hits the mark. “After my appearance on the TV show ‘Festival Obcion de la 12′, my manager had an incredible 3,000 calls on his cell phone and the station’s five lines were blocked non-stop,” says Pascal Silva.

He sings in German for the first time on his album “Seiltanzer”, released in Europe in 2009. During this time he toured with Latin American rhythms twice again in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

In 2010 Pascal Silva met the music producer Jack White: “I was thrilled, for me this is a young Julio Iglesias. The overall package – impressive voice, romantic feeling, passionate stage presence and entertainer qualities, charisma and dazzling looks – is simply convincing. He interprets the titles with an emotionality that is so loved by Julio Iglesias. Pascal’s voice entices, enthuses, flatters and its warm tone penetrates deep into the heart. This is a goosebumps singer.”
