Willi Gabalier

Likeable entertainer with many talents

The likeable Austrian professional master of 10 dances has long been an integral part of the international dance world as a show dancer, choreographer and trainer.

The 30-year-old art and teaching student is also represented as a singer and presenter on the stages of Austria and southern Germany.

With his perfectly choreographed singing shows, the old-school entertainer follows in the footsteps of the great dancers and singers, regardless of whether one makes comparisons with Fred Astaire from Hollywood or the times of the Comedian Harmonists from Berlin! In doing so, he hits the nerve of the times in order to rediscover the “good old” – when even Sir Paul McCartney rediscovered the music of the 20s and music revues celebrate success, the German-language ones that have emerged in recent years have taken part in revue and Willi Gabalier’s songs reminiscent of the early days of radio found the right time and place.

As a gentleman with charm and elegance, Willi Gabalier stands in stark contrast to his younger brother, the successful folk rock ‘n’ roller Andreas Gabalier in leather trousers and haferl shoes. As a result, the two brothers essentially “divided up” the women’s world in a fraternal and fair manner.

Her family history touched all of Austria and Germany. With his upbeat dance songs, Willi Gabalier proves what energy and confidence he has and how he captivates his audience with his good mood and “swing”. His motto is: “The future is now!” And that is also an interesting parallel to the mood in Berlin and Vienna in the 1920s.

The ideal son-in-law in tails also impressed as a professional dancer, first on ORF in “Dancing Stars”, now also on “Let’s Dance” on RTL, where he danced his way to the final with his celebrity partner Tatjana.

Even with his first dance-happy single successes with “Sing & Swing” or “Damenwahl” you just had to “swing” along! While he charmingly describes his beloved on the dance floor, who is “dancing the others against the wall,” the listener easily imagines how indescribable it must be to float across the dance floor in the arms of this professional… and perhaps more.

After romantic songs à la “Mondlicht”, he has now dedicated himself to rediscovering great Austrian successes and with “Im Weißen Rössl (am Wolfgangsee)” has reinterpreted a hit song that is also known in Germany in the style of Schlager 2.0. The new single “Rock me Amadeus”, a big nod to the unique Falco and the musical genius Mozart, will accompany Willi Gabalier on his performances after the last “Let’s Dance” show on RTL – and is a harbinger of the album with many other great Austro -Hits in the distinctive “Gabalier dance swing style”.

In addition to his career as a singer and dancer, Willi Gabalier looks after many young people and those young at heart as a choreographer and promoter of young talent and works as a lecturer for “Latin Dance” at the USI at the University of Graz. He is also the initiator of the pioneering integration dance project “The Dancing Classroom” by “dance vision – move more together”.

A jack of all trades at many weddings. The charmer answers the question of whether a private life and a partner are going well alongside all these appearances with a wink: “You always find time for the really important things, right?”
