The Weather Girls

For more than 20 years and over time in changing line-ups, the spirited ladies have been whirling across the stages and delighting their fans with powerful singing, good humor and lots of atmosphere.

Who doesn’t know “It’s Raining Men” or “Can U Feel It”, the titles that, after their international breakthrough with high chart positions worldwide in the past two decades, have probably become THE party anthems ever and have since then attracted people across all borders put you in an exuberant celebratory mood. These songs have been an integral part of every party for years. The WEATHER GIRLS inspire young and old as well as “trendy” and “normal”. The girls are simply “cult”!

A quick few sentences about the history of the WEATHER GIRLS: Founded as “Two Tons Of Fun”, as they called themselves in the seventies, the duo initially consisted of Izora Armstead and Martha Wash. With the recording of It’s Raining Men and the renaming to Weather Girls, a global career began in the early 1980s.

Since Martha Wash decided to pursue a solo career at the end of the 80s and the WEATHER GIRLS were only known as a duo, Izora Armstead had the idea of starting a family business: “My mother called and asked if we wanted to sing together,” recalls Dynelle Rhodes. “At first I thought she was kidding me, but she said briskly: ‘I’m in the studio, working on a new record, you have to decide now.’ I quit my job and moved to New York with my son Anthony .”

The debut family album “Double Tons Of Fun” was a great success, just like the hit single “Can U Feel It” it contained and the WEATHER GIRLS, so mother and daughter continued their success story.

A new studio album from the WEATHER GIRLS is being released and after “Puttin’ On The Hits” the following applies again: “Nomen est Omen”: TOTALLY WILD! Led by the single “Wild Thang”, an extremely danceable uptempo disco number in the finest Hi-NRG sound, a very fine collage of danceable disco bangers and soulful vocal trax was created for the in-house label in the Hennefer Coconut Studios WEATHER GIRLS show what great voices they have.

In addition to many new compositions, TOTALLY WILD also contains a brilliant selection of covers of the best disco classics. Both in the new recording of the hit “Can U Feel It”, as well as in their interpretations of “Born To Be Alive”, “Don’t Leave Me This Way” or “Muscles”, the WEATHER GIRLS have proven that they have been for years are an integral part of this scene, powerful, dynamic and wild: TOTALLY WILD!
