Jimmy Somerville

The return of the pop icon with the incomparable voice

Jimmy Somerville – the unmistakable voice of Bronski Beat and the Communards with unforgettable hits like “Smalltown Boy” and “Don’t Leave Me This Way” as well as as a solo artist with world-famous songs like “You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)”. After ten albums and over seven million records sold, he returns with his new album “Home Again”.

Jimmy Somerville stayed young and thus retained his youthful curiosity: about life, about people, about love. Once again, his irrepressible curiosity led him to set off for new worlds. He captured these encounters and feelings and turned them into music. He’s back with a collection of driving club and radio hits – but this time with the difference that for “Home Again” he worked closely with various collaborators from the international producer and DJ scene. This approach enabled him to produce a completely contemporary and fresh-sounding album.

“Home Again” is as authentic and uncompromising as the artist Jimmy Somerville himself. Accordingly, the selection of collaborators, such as Rolf Elmer from the dance duo Jam & Spoon, who drew on his roots as a classical guitarist and with “Selfish Days” contributed a wonderful, sensitive ballad. Other producers like Felix Gauder or Peter Plate von Rosenstolz have dedicated themselves to Jimmy’s pop background – and delivered first-class radio gems with songs like “So Come On” or “Could It Be Love”. Of course, when you think of Jimmy Somerville, you also think of club classics – and DJs like Mauro Picotto, Paul Mac and Tilmann Uhrmacher also contributed official dance floor fillers.

“Home Again” is another milestone in an extraordinary career
