THE ITALIAN TENORS: THAT’S AMORE
“Whatever the reason, Italy has managed – for centuries – to create a fantastic mix of passion and music that is incomparable.” (Evans Tonon)
The flirtation of artists trained in classical music in the realms of pop music is extremely exciting, but rarely has it been at such a high level: three highly talented Italian opera singers have dared to take the leap into another field and interpreted great Italian pop songs and canzoni in their inimitable way .
Curtain up for The Italian Tenors: Mirko Provini, Sabino Gaita and Evans Tonon.
Yes, there have been this mélange of two different musical genres in the past, but they are perhaps the only ones that make your heart swell after just a few notes. The Italian Tenors have been professionals on the opera stage for years. For all three, it was all the more exciting to combine their musical background from classical music with their penchant for pop music into a new whole. With their debut album “That’s Amore” they break through genre boundaries and use their own musical energy to conjure up a brilliant work of art that completely captivates the listener.
Let’s delve into the world of great Italian pop songs…
She is one of Italy’s great female stars who caused a sensation across borders: Rock singer Gianna Nannini moved the crowd with her hit “Bello E Impossibile,” among other things. The song, which deals with the sometimes inevitable between the beautiful and the impossible, comes to life in a completely new guise on “That’s Amore”. The tenors’ singing exudes a passion that did credit to the song years ago – albeit in different ways. Another track from the heyday of Italian pop songs stands out: the music begins, the voices – with a pop flavor – join in one after the other. Zucchero’s “Senza Una Donna” sounds. It’s not difficult to dream yourself into romantic summer nights from a vacation in Italy that may have gone by and you’ll be amazed at the effect the singing voices have on your own well-being. Along with Zucchero, he probably belongs to the premier class of Italian pop music: Eros Ramazzotti. A man who is not only adored by women in Italy. If “Adesso Tu” in The Italian Tenors’ version brings a shiver of happiness or even a tear of emotion, you can be sure that with “That’s Amore” you are holding an incomparable and true treasure of Italian musical culture in your hands.
And it’s worth listening to more.
In addition to the big pop hits of the 80s and 90s, “That’s Amore” offers a homage to Italian songs in their entirety. Jewels of Italian musical culture that have almost been forgotten could not be missing. There are legendary Italian film titles like “Parla Più Piano (The Love Theme From The Godfather)”, the theme music from “The Godfather” or “Arrivederci Roma” from the hit film of the same name. “The selection was by no means easy and was a long process,” say the artists; This was particularly influenced by memories from childhood and favorites. The listener is enchanted to be taken on an enjoyable journey to the land of love, the senses, the sun and the proverbial dolce vita.
The musical journey is not over yet…
Arrived at the favorites The Italian Tenors, American reminiscences of the 50s and 60s could not be missing. The title song “That’s Amore” is certainly one of the musical highlights of the album. Whether in the country version from 2007 by the American actor John C. Reilly, as a current ringtone or in the advertising industry, Dean Martin’s hit developed into an immortal worldwide hit and an absolute favorite song of The Italian Tenors. It continues with the anthem by Joan Baez and Ennio Morricone “Here’s To You”, which gives the album another highlight. These are true matters of the heart that secured many a song a place on the track list and thus give the album the necessary authenticity.
…and welcome to the heart of music.
What awaits the listener are magical moments, brought about by an opulently arranged fireworks display of great Italian pop gems, celebrated charmingly and highly professionally by true experts in their field. This cocktail of multi-faceted voices based on Italian hits with an international touch makes “That’s Amore” a seductive musical experience that will not only make women’s hearts beat faster!

He says: “For me, two feelings are very much in the foreground in the project ‘The Italian Tenors’: on the one hand, I am very proud to be recognized as an Italian singer. On the other hand, I hope to preserve the beauty of the songs, entertain people with them and put a smile on their faces.”
Mirko Provini
Tenor from Luino (Italy); After studying music at the Milan Conservatory, he took part in a major Mozart opera and many concerts as well as cultural events. He says: “The Italian Tenors means a lot to me as our album reflects a wealth of emotion and passion.
