MEN UNDER COVER are anything but on a secret mission: The quintet is currently regularly present on German concert stages and in 2011, frontman Rufus Martin even flickered across the nation’s TV screens for weeks.
As a solo candidate in the second season of “X-Factor” (VOX), the smart US boy with the charismatic American accent quickly won the sympathy of the casting audience.
Above all, the singer impressed with his extraordinary voice, with which he secured fourth place at the end of the singing competition. Rufus also scores points beyond the television world with “Soul Power”. Martin’s interpretations of classics by Lionel Richie (“All Night Long”), Marvin Gaye (“What’s Going On”), Stevie Wonder (“Superstition”), Lenny Kravitz (“I’ll Be Waiting”), Prince (“1999”) ), Bill Withers (“Ain’t No Sunshine”) and Shaggy (“Angel”) are almost identical to the original versions.
The technically skilled bandmates are in no way inferior to the young father in terms of quality: Nick Flade (keyboards), Christoph Holzhauser (drums), Mario Schönhofer (bass) and Stefan Puppele (guitar) can look back on impressive musical careers themselves, including collaborations with international stars such as Steve Lukather, Chris de Burgh or Paul Young as well as high-profile awards. Together with “Mr. X” Rufus Martin, MEN UNDER COVER have no reason to “hide” on stage!
