Through their fathers, grandfathers and uncles, all of whom are somehow called Johann, the band members not only discovered their love of music, but were also inspired by their band name Johanns Erben. Part of her legacy was to follow her families’ recommendations and receive musical training. During this time, the band members got to know each other and began to perform hit classics under the name Swamp Kröten. It went well, was fun and soon the first requests to perform came in. In the years that followed, everything grew: the great feeling on stage, the fan base and the demand.
After the great success as a cover band, it was time for the next level: the band took a creative break to record their own album. During this time they found their own sound, their identity as Johann’s heirs. The result at the end of the creative break: pop from Austria at its finest. The stage professionals have been delighting their audiences with their debut album ErbGut since the beginning of their summer tour in 2015. “Our dream is to celebrate with our fans in a stadium one day and that’s what we’re working towards,” reveals Arnold Kendlbacher, the band’s frontman. The reaction to the video of her current single “Wer, Wenn Nicht Du” on YouTube suggests that it doesn’t have to just be a dream.
