“Eloise” was his absolute worldwide hit

At the age of 16, Barry Ryan and twin brother Paul started their singing careers. Her mother Marion Ryan was a celebrated pop singer, major television star and at home on the stage. No wonder that her young sons immediately gathered a huge young screaming girl fan base around them from their first appearances.

A few years later and after endless stress in show business (3 days off in two years!), Paul retired from the stage and continued writing the songs. His first song, which he wrote for his brother, also became their biggest hit: ELOISE was an absolute worldwide hit, stayed at the top of the charts for weeks and sold more than 4.5 million records. Paul continued to write hits for Barry and, among others, songs for Frank Sinatra.

Barry Ryan has been a very successful photographer since the mid-80s. His photographs can be seen in many museums and exhibitions worldwide such as ‘The National Portrait Gallery’ – London and ‘MOMA’ – New York. He gives concerts, appears on TV shows, loves singing and being on stage. Barry Ryan: “I must be the happiest person I know. I have done two things in my life, photography and singing, both were and are somewhat successful… I never thought of it as a job, I loved doing it!”
