edel entertainment releases “Disco Defenders”, the new double album from the Swedish chart breakers
With the mega hit “Crying At The Discoteque” in 2001, ALCAZAR catapulted the disco sound of the 70s into the 21st century with gigantic success. And at the end of the decade, the Swedish trio is going all out again: On May 22nd, 2009, ALCAZAR will end the disco crisis, as the double album “Disco Defenders” will be released by edel entertainment!
Andreas Lundstedt, Tess Merkel and new addition Lina Hedlund prove that the name “ALCAZAR” still stands for energetic dance music at the highest level. From the first single, the dance floor burner “Burning”, to the party hit “We Keep On Rockin’”, which achieved gold status in Sweden just one week after its release, to the hot dance/Latin number “From Brazil With Love”, which the whole of Germany will be celebrating this summer, “Disco Defenders” is a true disco inferno that was worth the wait. By the way, the power package was produced by the same team that was responsible for “Crying At The Discoteque”.
With “Disco Defenders,” ALCAZAR takes their listeners on a two-hour journey through a bright, pulsating pop universe. The band proves once again that they not only master a wide variety of styles, but can also conjure up a great party anthem from every single song. Rousing harmonies that can easily stand up to comparison with the great musical role models ABBA, hot rhythms, cool disco samples from the 70s and 80s and original lyrics make ALCAZAR an act without which the musical landscape would be a lot sadder.
On CD 1, “Disco Defenders” delivers twelve new tracks that will once again mobilize millions to party with their unique mix of dance-pop and disco sounds. In addition, CD 2 features the biggest ALCAZAR hits for the first time – from “Crying At The Discoteque” to “Physical” and “Sexual Guarantee” to “This Is The World We Live In” and “Start The Fire”. As a bonus there are the videos for “We Keep On Rockin’” and “Burning”.
